WRCDV Receives $75,000 Grant from the Atlanta Women's Foundation
We are honored to announce a $75,000 grant from the Atlanta Women's Foundation (AWF) to support our Mental Health and Wellness Program. The award was presented at AWF's third annual Community Investment Celebration, held September 10, 2026 at Atlanta City Hall.
WRCDV was one of roughly 20 local nonprofits recognized at the event, where grants were awarded to organizations advancing the wellbeing of women and girls across metro Atlanta. AWF announced a total of $1.4 million in community investment this year, directed toward three focus areas: mental health and wellbeing, girls' empowerment, and a two-generation initiative supporting families together.
This funding directly strengthens our Mental Health and Wellness Program, which provides:
No-cost individual counseling for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault
Clinical and peer-based support groups that create community and shared healing
Wellness groups — including yoga, mindfulness and meditation, and creative expression — that support recovery of the whole person, not just crisis response
Together, these services help survivors build the emotional grounding and stability they need to move forward on their own terms, at their own pace.
We are deeply grateful to the Atlanta Women's Foundation for this partnership and for recognizing the vital role that mental health support plays in survivors' journeys toward safety and stability. With this investment, survivors across DeKalb County and metro Atlanta will have greater access to the healing resources they deserve.
