After 25 years of unwavering dedication to survivors, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Ayonna Johnson.

Ayonna joined the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence in 2000 as a crisis line advocate. Since then, she has served as a legal advocate and most recently as our Director of Legal Services—supporting thousands of survivors with wisdom, compassion, and strength. A nationally recognized expert on domestic violence, Ayonna’s legacy includes guest lectures at leading universities, appearances on major media platforms, and influential training for judges, lawyers, and advocates across the country.

A licensed therapist and certified mediator, Ayonna has elevated our work with her unique expertise in trauma, abuse dynamics, and justice system advocacy. Now, she is concluding her time with WRCDV to pursue her doctorate in clinical psychology, focusing on forensic work that will no doubt continue to change lives.
