Proclamation, event bring attention to Domestic Violence Awareness Month

We are grateful to co-sponsors Commissioners Steve Bradshaw and Michelle Long Spears, along with the Board of Commissioners and CEO Michael Thurmond, for recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month with a proclamation at the board of commissioners meeting held Oct. 10. Our Executive Director, Jean Douglas, was present to address the Commissioners and attendees and share how our work impacts DV survivors in DeKalb.

This is such an important event to bring visibility to an issue that affects so many in silence. Thank you to WRCDV for the work you do every day.
