Update:
Thanks to Decaturish for sending a reporter and photographer to cover our 33rd Candlelight Vigil. https://decaturish.com/2024/10/womens-resource-center-to-end-domestic-violence-holds-vigil-in-decatur-square/
"'Tonight, we will recharge ourselves, recommit ourselves to continuing to work to end violence against women. Tonight, we will remember 162 individuals that we have lost since we were here last year due to domestic violence,' WRC Executive Director Jean Douglas said."

"Speakers include WRCDV volunteer support group facilitator Angela Fraiser. She got involved after her cousin died last year due to domestic violence. Rev. Greg Tallant, the Rector of Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur, is another speaker who will be at the event.
"'Holy Trinity Parish is an incredible example of how faith organizations can become involved in domestic violence advocacy, including hosting programs, providing volunteers, providing financial support, and incorporating anti-domestic violence messaging into sermons,' the event announcement says.
"The event will include remarks from domestic violence survivor Destiny McFarland, providing an example of how one woman’s strength and perseverance 'can have ripple effects.'
“'Not only did she rebuild a safe life for herself and her daughter after experiencing abuse, setting a beautiful example for her daughter, but her journey inspired her own sister to also leave an abusive relationship because she saw through Destiny what could be possible,' the event announcement says."
