We are so excited to welcome Kyra Hanlon-Batiste to the team as our new Director of Community Engagement!
Kyra Hanlon-Batiste has been advocating for survivors of gender-based violence since college, where she served as a Sexual Assault Peer Educator, lobbied for the reauthorization of VAWA, and advocated for university changes to support student survivors. She has led community engagement work since 2017 in Memphis, TN and later in Washington, DC at the Georgetown University Center for Social Justice. Her approach to community engagement is rooted in solidarity and mutual aid, recognizing that community members are the experts in their experiences.
